Action Workshop: Trauma-Informed at Work

Day 1 – February 21, 2017

Trauma informed practice is gaining ground in Canada in the delivery of services, the design of mental health and substance use systems, and in workplace health promotion initiatives. Becoming trauma informed in our personal lives, agencies/organizations and systems of care requires a wide range of adjustments in practice and policy, supported by research, innovation and leadership.

Explore what it means to be trauma informed, and what service providers and leaders across Canada and internationally are learning as they apply trauma-informed principles and practices in a range of settings, to promote the health and coping skills of diverse men and women.

Speakers: Nancy Poole, Director of the Centre of Excellence for Women’s Health, Cst. Emma Hyde, Vancouver Police Department, and Seia Roots, Community Educator, CMHA Vancouver-Fraser
