Day One Workshop – March 13, 2018 – Let’s Get to Work! The National Standard for Psychological Health and Safety at Your Workplace

Miranda is a Health Promotions Specialist at UBC’s Vancouver campus specializing in workplace wellbeing. She is responsible for the creating, implementation and evaluation of all workplace health programs for staff and faculty. Her work focuses on a holistic and preventative view of wellbeing, and includes initiatives such as self-care training, mindfulness programming, fitness challenges, biometric screenings, large scale awareness campaigns and mental health literacy education.

Miranda has a background in both psychology and education and is passionate about empowering employees to make informed decisions that positively impact not only their individual wellbeing, but the overall health and culture of the organization. Outside of UBC, Miranda works as a community sexual health educator and is currently pursuing a Master’s in Adult Learning and Education. On the weekends you can find her walking the False Creek Seawall, trying new places to eat around town and socializing with family and friends.

Miranda was recognized with a 2016 UBC President’s Service Award for Emerging Leadership and was part of the team that accepted the CMHA’s Workplace Excellence Award on behalf of UBC in 2016.
