Occupational Health and Safety Specialist
Emma Nicolson is an Occupational Health and Safety Specialist at the Canadian Centre for Occupational Health and Safety (CCOHS) with the Inquiries & Client Services team. Emma advises employers, employees and Government Officials with their health and safety questions and concerns, fielding inquiries on a variety of health and safety topics such as ergonomics, building effective health and safety programs, health promotion and wellness initiatives, general safety, violence and bullying in the workplace. Since joining CCOHS in 2009, Emma has been involved in a variety of special projects including the development of OSH Answers, client support for OSH Works, Media Spokesperson, and creation of Hazard Identification Bundles. She is also widely involved in many of CCOHS’ internal initiatives, and is currently the Project Leader for the implementation of the new CSA Standard on Psychological Health and Safety at CCOHS. Emma received both a Bachelor of Health Sciences and a Post Graduate Degree Diploma, in Occupational Health and Safety Management from the University of Western Ontario.
